Beauvais airport: terminal 1 or 2, opening hours and access
Paris-Beauvais airport has two neighbouring terminals, and neither stays open overnight. Departure terminal, opening hours day by day, check-in deadlines: here are the official answers gathered on one page, with what they mean for an early departure.
Terminal 1 or terminal 2: how can you tell?
At Beauvais, a terminal is not tied to an airline: it is assigned flight by flight. Ryanair, the airport's leading airline, uses both buildings. Knowing your airline is therefore not enough to know where to go.
The airport's advice: as you walk in, check the large display screens near the entrances, which show the departure terminal (T1 or T2) and, in their last column, the check-in desks for your flight. The same information appears on the live departures page of the airport's website.
A mistake costs little: the two terminals stand side by side, linked by a pedestrian walkway. Between them are the coach station, where the buses, the Navette Express and the Aérobus to Paris leave from, along with the bus ticket office and the information point.
What time do the terminals open and close?
Opening hours follow the flight schedule and change from one day to the next. These are the hours published by the airport.

The terminals close at night. Outside these hours they are not open to the public: you cannot wait for an early flight in the departure hall.
Another catch in the table: on Fridays, Terminal 1 does not open until 4.30am. Anyone who arrives earlier waits outside.
For a dawn departure, the only way to be there at opening time without a taxi is to sleep next door. The apartments in Tillé are 430–610 metres from the terminals on foot, the ibis budget Beauvais Aéroport is 1.08 km away, and the Navette Express reaches the terminal at 4.47am from the hotels along its route.
When should you arrive, and when does check-in close?
- Recommended arrival: 1hr 30 to 2hrs before a flight within France, the European Union or the Schengen area, 2 to 3hrs for other destinations.
- Check-in opens: at least 2hrs before departure.
- Check-in closes: between 40 and 60 minutes before departure, depending on the airline. After that, the booking is lost.
If you have already checked in online and carry no hold luggage, go straight to security, where queues can be long at peak times. Otherwise, the screens show the desk where you drop your bags.
Put together, these deadlines draw a clear line: the Navette Express reaches the terminal at 4.47am, which works for a Schengen flight from about 6.30am. Any earlier, you need to walk from nearby accommodation or take a taxi.
